This extraordinary two-floor space is your canvas for crafting unforgettable events, offering breathtaking views of Johannesburg from its wrap-around balcony. A built-in stage, built-in bar and digital screen make it ready for almost any production out of the box.
Hosting at The Playground means inheriting a posture. The room is set up to do large-scale events exceptionally well, and to flex into adjacent kinds of evening with a small amount of tuning. We don't believe in flexible rooms that mean nothing on their own.
Production, lighting, sound and bar service can all be tailored to brief. We work with a small group of trusted partners, and we'll handle the orchestration so you don't have to.

Braamfontein’s famed Neighbourgoods Market venue is back! Now called 'The Playground' by
The Playground is a considered space, playing host to a regular entertainment space every Saturday with a variety of gourmet street food, cocktails, and live music performances and DJs.
Coming soon, Sunday will play host to live music performances and events. This is not just a market space – it is as focused on the visitor experience as it is on creating a platform for exceptional young talent in Joburg.

Paint and sip
Discover your inner artist during this 2-hour creative workshop at The Playground Market in Braamfontein. We have three different creative ways for you to get involved. The options are:
Food and drink
Each week our handpicked artisan traders will serve delicious food, made fresh from local produce. Stay hydrated with some delicious fresh coconuts. Alcohol and cold drinks can be purchased from the bar upstairs.
Live music
Enjoy live music as you explore the inner city Market. We have a variety of talented musicians every Saturday.
Enjoy eating, drinking and looking over the iconic Nelson Mandela Bridge here at The Playground
